Can I export wells and interpretations from one project to another?
Yes. This is done through Export (File -> Export…-> Well Data…). NeuraSection Project must be chosen as the File Type. All Wells or Selected Wells in the project will export anything associated with each well (annotations, freeforms, tops, production data, etc.) To export cross sections to another project, select Selected Cross Section(s) from page 1 of the exporter.
A portion of some of my well logs are not showing up in the cross section. They are all calibrated. What is wrong?
Check to make sure you have depth markers high enough and low enough on your images. Any part of the image above the 1st depth marker and below the last marker will not display in the cross section.
How do I find out what my license key # is to get online updates?
The license key # appears on the ‘About’ splash panel. To get there, start up the program and select Help -> About NeuraSection. All the information you will need is there.
You can also request an update or see if you need an update by choosing Help->Support->Check for Updates… This process will determine whether an update and/or new license file is needed, and allow you to easily make the request.
How do I find out what version of NeuraSection I’m running?
Go to Help -> About NeuraSection.
Can I use TVD log images?
You can but you must remember they have to be calibrated in measured depth values. If you have measured depth logs, you should use those. The wells will be displayed in tvdss when placed in the cross section.
Can I save my cross section as a .jpg for .tif file?
Yes. This is done through the printing mechanism.
1. Select the cross section as your active document.
2. Go to File -> Print.
3. Click the Printer Name drop-down list and select either the NLIJPEG Driver or the NLITIFF Driver.
4. Click on the Properties… button to edit size and quality.
5. Click on OK on the main Print Panel.
6. A Print to File dialog box will come up for you to give the file a name and location.
How come some (or all) of my wells aren’t displaying in Map View, but they are listed on the well list below grayed out?
Wells will only display in Map View if the LAT/LON information is present in the header. Wells not displayed will appear grayed out on the well list below. They may, however, still be opened from the well choice list.
I imported a bunch of LAS files that have curves and tracks that aren’t properly formatted. How do I change them all at once to make them consistent?
Close all LAS files.
Go to: Edit > Templates > LAS Curve Template.
Create a new template.
Select and delete existing curves.
Click the ‘Add from LAS’ button and select pertinent LAS files with curves you want to define. This will add all curves to the list.
Set colors, scale values, scale types, etc.
Once curves are set as you like, select all.
Click ‘Apply SELECTED CURVE changes to current project.’
NOTE: This change will apply to all LAS files in the current project.
When I click to add Tops to my logs, they are not appearing in the order I would like them to. I have to keep selecting another top. What can I do to have them display in the correct order while correlating?
The Strat Panel is the ‘master’ surface list. The order and color is driven from here.
1. Edit > Strat Panel.
2. Arrange surfaces in the correct order.
3. Click OK.
Is there any limit on the number of wells that can be imported into a single project, or into NeuraSection?
There is no limitation other than hardware specifications or the current limit of 3GB for a Microsoft Access® database.
